Kid Laroi had performed four shows for the Australian leg of his world tour and was due to perform at Rod Laver Arena. However, in an Instagram post on Friday night, he said he was “struggling to stand and go to the bathroom” despite having treatment all afternoon.
He is also scheduled to perform a second show at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday night and Rod Laver Arena’s official account tweeted that fans would get an update as soon as possible about that show while Friday night ticket holders would hear from Ticketek about their options.
“As the night went on, it got worse, to the point where it was hard for me to stand up and go to the bathroom,” Kid Laroi said in a message.
“I was getting super light-headed and my body felt super heavy.
“I promise you with all my heart that I gave everything in me to try and get up on that stage tonight.
“This is my first ever tour and I absolutely hate that I’ve had to do this, especially at the last minute as it is so unfair on you guys, but at the end of the day I have to put my health first and I would be lying to you if I told you I was OK to perform.”
He added he would come back to Melbourne and perform the show for fans but didn’t have a date for when that will happen.
