A woman has suffered several broken bones after a man riding an e-scooter crashed into her outside a Perth nail salon.

The 70-year-old woman was struck moments after stepping onto the footpath as she left the salon on Langler Street in East Victoria Park on Wednesday afternoon.

Security footage from inside the salon shows how quickly the frightening collision happened.

Manicurists inside the store were left startled as the woman was knocked to the ground and the man came off his scooter.

Police are appealing to the public for both footage of the crash and the e-scooter in the area prior to the crash.

The girl spent a night in hospital after being sent flying 10 metres across a footpath.

Perth father Volker Ritzka sounded the alarm in June after his eight-year-old daughter Lilli was knocked to the ground by an e-scooter. (Nine)

"It was a strong impact, a big, big scooter, a really heavy vehicle," he said at the time.

The father later went on to say he hopes e-scooters will soon "be a thing of the past".

On average, paramedics at St John Ambulance respond to 15 e-scooter crashes every month.

Most of them are classed as priority one, meaning the injuries are life-threatening.

This year, both 13-year-old Calym Gilbert and father-of-three Kim Rowe were killed in separate e-scooter crashes.

The WA government's eRideable legislation was introduced in December 2021.

The Road Safety Commission will seek community feedback on the use of e-scooters in the coming weeks, to ensure the legislation meets needs and expectations.

Road Safety Commissioner Adrian Warner said while most people "are doing the right thing", any collision between an e-scooter and a pedestrian is "avoidable".

"When one occurs, (it) serves as a timely reminder for people to take care in shared spaces like footpaths," Warner said.

Intersection conundrum heats up online debate

The law allows a maximum speed of 10km/h on footpaths in WA but riders must ride to the conditions and slow down in areas with lots of foot traffic.

The rules recognise that e-scooter riders are vulnerable to cars on the road and pedestrians are vulnerable to e-scooters on footpaths.

"There is a hierarchy of vulnerability and a hierarchy of responsibility," Warner said.

"On footpaths, pedestrians are most vulnerable and people on e-scooters have a responsibility to avoid a collision."
