From one big personality to another: Nine has also officially announced its Shane Warne miniseries, Warnie.

Warnie will tell the story of the larger-than-life leg spinner whose career, both on and off the field, captured the national interest in a way we’ve never seen before.

A two-part miniseries about the legendary Shane Warne forms part of Nine’s programming slate for 2023.

While cast details have been kept quiet, Warnie will screen over two nights in 2023 and will undoubtedly attract as many headlines as the man himself.

Elsewhere on the drama front is the true-crime series Human Error, which follows a detective who stumbles upon a criminal conspiracy that threatens to destroy her career.

Cast details are also scant, but the series has the backing of serious creative talent, including John Edwards, Dan Edwards, Greg Haddrick and Samantha Winston, with The Age’s legendary crime writer and podcaster John Silvester as story consultant.

RPA began airing on Channel Nine in 1995. It returns to the network after 13 years off the air.

And in further proof that everything old is new again, Nine is bringing RPA back from the dead. The original series, which ran for 17 years between 1995 and 2012, remains a much-loved part of the Australian television landscape.

The new RPA will be narrated by Doctor Doctor star Rodger Corser and will continue to tell the stories of the patients, doctors and medical staff who work at the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney.

The Nine slate also included a slew of shows that will debut later this year, including the curiously titled, My Mum, Your Dad. The reality dating show focuses on single parents seeking love for the second time around.

Hosted by Kate Langbroek, the series sees adult children playing cupid for their unsuspecting parents. Single mums and dads will gather at a luxury retreat and, unbeknownst to them, their kids are pulling the strings from a remote bunker.

No doubt Nine will be hoping they can transplant the Midas touch success of Married at First Sight onto this all-new reality TV format.

Also later this year, Nine will dip its toe into the reality real estate game with Dream Listings and Country Home Rescue.

Dream Listings appears to be a rebranded Buying Byron, which was announced at last year’s upfronts. The series follows the ultra-competitive agents battling it out for listings in Byron Bay.

Slightly less fast-paced is Country Home Rescue with Shaynna Blaze, which follows The Block judge and her children as she embarks on restoring a dilapidated historical home in regional Victoria.

Nine’s vast sport offering will also continue to expand in the next 12 months as the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France is broadcast live and free on Channel Nine, with every game also shown live on Stan Sport.
