Hobart is set to host its first fashion festival this month dubbed the Tasmanian Fashion Festival (TFF).

The event spans two days and aims to support emerging and established designers, creatives and retailers. The runway preview will take place at the Henry Jones Art Hotel on September 30 followed by an all-day fashion fair at the Wrest Point Hotel and Casino on Saturday.

“Through an annual fashion festival, the TFF is endeavouring to create opportunities, growth, and education for those within the fashion and retail sector in Tasmania,” Tanya Ellis, TFF’s president, told Ragtrader.

The event also includes workshops on “styling all bodies”, menswear styling, fashion design illustration and sustainable textiles in Tasmania.

Event organisers have planned to host the festival annually in different parts of the state to boost inclusivity. Tickets for both events are available online.
