Melbourne-based luggage brand July has launched its first brick-and-mortar store in Sydney at The Galeries.
Founded by Athan Didaskalou and Richard Li, July first sold exclusively online before branching out into retail stores. The brand offers ‘minimalist’ luggage design, offers a 100-day return policy and a lifetime warranty.
Along with luggage, July offers backpacks, water bottles, phone cases, and travel bags. The company says it focuses on sustainability and exhorts consumers to break the cycle of single-use travel gear.
“Creating sustainable longer-lasting luggage at a fraction of the traditional price means we are giving all people the opportunity to own luggage that lasts a lifetime and stops the cycle of single-use travel accessories,” the luggage retailer wrote on its website.
July opened its first physical store in 2019 in its hometown, Melbourne, due to the demand for the ability to see and touch the products of consumers. It also plans to expand in the US where it already has stores in New York and Los Angeles, as well as look for opportunities in the Europe market.
