Star Pharmacy Group has appointed Peter Piliouras as the new CEO of its national pharmacy business.

The group incorporates its own national brand, Star Discount Chemist and a number of Priceline Pharmacies and independent stores.

Piliouras was formerly the COO and CCO at Peregrine Corporation, managing 250 stores and more than 3000 employees. He has 25 years of leadership experience in convenience retail.

Founders Stan Kontos and Peter Gardiakos, said: “Peter will join us with fresh energy and a wealth of experience to build on the strong foundations laid by our outgoing CEO, David Clark.”

Piliouras described the pharmacy group as a “South Australian success story with great values and a strong customer offer” that will continue to grow and expand.

“I am looking forward to being part of Star Pharmacy Group’s next growth phase and working closely with the passionate and capable teams to deliver fantastic outcomes for our customers.”

He commences the role on November 21.
