Amazon revealed a collection of new devices and services for the home at its September hardware and services event this Wednesday, plus a new one for your car. The second generation of Echo Auto, the device that brings Alexa with you on your commute or travels, is set to arrive later this year. 

New features of the second gen Echo Auto device include a slimmed-down, space-saving design and an adhesive base for flexible yet stable positioning in your car. The device is equipped with five microphones designed to hear you and passengers over other sounds in your car such as music, air conditioning or traffic.

With the new device, Amazon also introduced Amazon Roadside Assistance. Nedim Fresko, Amazon VP of Alexa Devices and Developer Technologies, told CNET the new feature will enable drivers to call via Alexa for assistance with roadside situations such as a flat tire or running out of gas. 

The Roadside Assistance feature is available for an annual subscription fee of $55. The Echo Auto 2 will retail at $55, around the same as the first-gen Echo Auto price of $50 (though those prices could drop during the second Amazon Prime Day event taking place a couple weeks).
