Richmond AFLW star midfielder Mon Conti has received the highest accolade from her peers, winning the AFL Players Association Most Valuable Player (MVP) Award for the season.

A damaging attacking player, Conti kicked eight goals during the regular season for the Tigers, including three goal games against Hawthorn and GWS.

She averaged nearly 22 disposals, 12.4 contested possessions and six tackles a game.

Conti won the award ahead of North Melbourne's Jasmine Garner and Western Bulldogs' Ellie Blackburn.

The 22-year-old made her AFLW debut in 2018 for the Western Bulldogs before joining the Tigers in 2020.

Before this year, Conti combined AFLW with basketball, winning the WNBL rookie of the year award in 2017 and a WNBL championship with the Southside Flyers in 2020.

This year she has focused on football and, although the Tigers did not make the finals, Conti has been recognised for her big season.
