Australia's Olympic champion Jakara Anthony has won gold in the season-opening World Cup moguls event in Finland.
- It is Anthony's first win in the prestigious Ruka event
- She scored 81.69 to claim the gold
- Fellow Australian Matt Graham claimed bronze in the men's event
Anthony scored 81.69 in Ruka to sit comfortably clear of French rival Perrine Laffont on 78.33, with Japan's Anri Kawamura third on the same score.
It was the 24-year-old Victorian's first win in Ruka, following her gold-medal triumph in February at the Beijing Winter Olympics.
"To kick off the season with the win and the yellow bib is pretty massive," Anthony said.
"You come into the first event and you don't know what everyone's been doing since last season, so it's exciting to come out and see what everyone can do and show off what you're capable of.
"It's a bit of a different experience for me this year, coming off such incredible experiences last season with the gold medal and the crystal globes.
"I've definitely got a bit of a target on my back now and there's going to be a lot of learning experiences this season, but I'm really looking forward to it."
It was a day to celebrate for the Australian team, with 2018 Olympic silver medallist Matt Graham collecting a bronze in the men's event, which was won by Canadian moguls legend Mikael Kingsbury.
Kingsbury scored 84.50 points to take the win from Japan's Ikuma Horishima on 80.48, with Graham a further 0.36 points back.
