Last week’s Powerball jackpotted after nobody took out the division one prize.
The winning numbers were 4, 6, 9, 22, 23, 24, 26 and the Powerball was 18.
There have already been more Powerball division one wins so far in 2022 than there were during 2019, 2020 or 2021, according to spokesperson Matt Hart.
“Powerball has been on a winning streak this year,” he said.
And while every person gambling on their entry has the chance to win, lottery officials say some winning trends have emerged.
Lottery officials encourage entrants to register their entry online, otherwise a lost ticket is as good as gone.
“If you win the jackpot, you’ll want to know immediately,” Hart said.
“By registering your entry, we’ll be able to reach out to you straight after the draw to confirm the life-changing news.”
How long you will have to wait to receive your $100 million if you win Powerball tonight?
So what happens if you are lucky enough to take home Division One prize?
Will you have to wait months for your money and just how will that cold hard cash land in your account?
The Lott has confirmed that winners will receive their millions two weeks after scooping the jackpot.
That’s 14 days to plan exactly how you’ll spend your winnings in fine style, before it is deposited into your account.
The Lott says four things will happen for registered users immediately after they land the winning numbers in Powerball.
What happens if you win Division One?
- A representative from The Lott will call you with the good news using the contact number listed in your account.
- The Lott will send a letter to confirm your Division One Powerball win - as well as some “congratulatory goodies” to celebrate your win.
- The Lott says you’ll then have to wait two weeks to receive your winnings. “You’ll have a two-week provisional period to plan what you’re going to do with your life-changing prize,” The Lott says.
- The prize will then be paid into your online account so you can then withdraw the millions to a bank account of your choice.
