Meanwhile, Jamie Kah continues her rehabilitation at the Epworth Hospital from a fall in the VRC Sires’ Produce on Newmarket Handicap day, which left her severely concussed.

Kah’s partner Ben Melham, victorious in Saturday’s Australian Cup, told RSN radio on Monday morning that Kah’s condition was improving.

“The last couple of days I’ve seen significant improvement in her,” he said.

”She’s just taking the necessary steps from doctors’ advice.”

But Melham said there would be no rush from Kah to get back to race riding in time for the spring carnival.

“With brain injuries, they are all different and people recover at different times,” Melham said.

“That’s not even concern at the minute, the concern is getting her back to full health and then reassessing.

“But even the doctors haven’t given us a lot of information on time frames.

“It will just be day by day, step by step. She will be ready when she’s ready.”

Melham joked that Kah continued to get herself in trouble for watching too much TV.

“She’s supposed to be resting and not watching too much television,” he said.

“She is getting very frustrated because she is an outdoor kind of person, and she is locked up in her room doing her rehab.

“She’s been [sneaking] the racing channel on and getting in a little bit of trouble for that because she won’t turn it off.”

Stewards are yet to conclude their inquiry into Kah’s fall, which also brought down Craig Williams.

An inquiry into the third fall, at Moonee Valley on All-Star Mile day, also remains open.

While there were no falls at Saturday’s metropolitan race meeting at Flemington, a fall at Geelong on Friday left Blaike McDougall with a fractured C7, while Grant Seccombe suffered a fall when riding at Healesville on Saturday.
