Indonesian President Joko Widodo has met Chinese leader Xi Jinping in China's south-western city of Chengdu for talks about joint projects, including the development of Indonesia's capital.

China is willing to deepen its strategic cooperation with Indonesia, state media has cited President Xi Jinping as saying.
China and Indonesia should ensure the high-standard completion of the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway as it nears commercial operation, Mr Xi told Mr Widodo.
The high-speed rail, a flagship project of the Indonesian president and part of China's Belt and Road Initiative, was set back by budgetary problems and already four years behind schedule.
"The two sides should make every effort to do a good job in the last kilometre of construction and ensure the high standard and high quality of the project," Mr Xi said.
Mr Xi said China was also willing to expand imports of Indonesian bulk commodities and agriculture products.
He also highlighted areas for cooperation such as new energy automobiles as well as smart cities.
During their meeting in Chengdu, the two leaders also discussed investments, cooperation in areas such as health, research and technology, and regional issues, including China's relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, according to a statement from Mr Widodo.
“The Indo-Pacific is a strategic area that we must protect as a peaceful and stable area,” Mr Widodo, whose country is chairing the ASEAN this year, said.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said the governments of China and Indonesia signed several agreements, including a memorandum of understanding on exchanging knowledge and experience for the development of Nusantara.
Mr Widodo is on a three-day visit to China and also plans to meet with Chinese businesspeople to discuss possible investments in Indonesia, especially in the petrochemical, renewable energy and health sectors.
He also is scheduled to attend the opening of the FISU World University Games in Chengdu.
Indonesia and China are members of the Group of 20 major developed and emerging economies.
China is Indonesia's largest trade and investment partner.
Indonesia wants a bigger role as a supplier of nickel and other raw materials to China's fast-growing electric car brands.
