The round of 16 is done and we now know who the Matildas will play in their next match.

Meanwhile, a South American fairytale continued as a Caribbean one ended.

Here are five things from the final round-of-16 games at the Women's World Cup.

1. Matildas to face France in the quarterfinals

The Matildas and Les Bleues have never met on football's biggest stage, but if the words "World Cup" and "France" send shivers down your spine, it could have something to do with Australia's disappointing performance in the country four years ago.

Now, if Australia is to advance past the quarterfinals at the World Cup for the first time, on home soil no less, they will need to exorcise some French demons at Brisbane's Lang Park on Saturday evening.
