At 0-2% interest rates Birmingham made money, at today's rates and a State that borrowed heavily to kick start the economy after COVID-19, the numbers are probably so bad to fund the projects as it would all be borrowed money....

The reality is that every Commonwealth Games or Olympic Games always blows the original budget set.

They don’t generate revenue and to be honest I’m glad they have been scrapped. Victoria is currently heavily in debt.

The money should be spent on public housing, schools and paying back the debt that was occurred during covid.

I also don’t think Geelong council really have a leg on to say about contributing money when they have mismanaged their local purse strings for many years and are shutting down libraries as they can't afford them!
