In response to the Financial Sector Union's claims that the Commonwealth Bank is reducing its workforce by 192 jobs, the bank says it is working closely with those affected to help them find "other opportunities".
It says it doesn't take the decision to reduce roles "lightly", and is focused on supporting those who are impacted.
"CBA employs around 50,000 people across Australia and internationally and since 2021 we have recruited more than 10,000 people, reinforcing our position as one of Australia's largest employers.
"As part of our focus on constant business improvement, we regularly review the skills we need and how we organised. That means from time to time some roles and work will change or no longer be required.
"These decisions are never easy nor are they taken lightly.
"Our priority is to treat every individual with respect and care, taking time to talk with each employee impacted to understand individual circumstances and work with them on finding opportunities and building skills to support them for another role in or outside the bank."
