Think About It's stunning winning sequence has continued at Randwick, with the exciting sprinter beating a stellar field in a thrilling finish to the $20 million The Everest.

On a memorable day for trainer Joe Pride, who prepared the first and third placegetters in the world's richest race on turf, Think About It sat just behind the leaders in Saturday's 1,200m showpiece before making his winning run in the straight.

Under jockey Sam Clipperton, $4.40 favourite Think About It moved up to surge to the lead inside the final 200m and was able to withstand a late charge by second favourite I Wish I Win ($5) to beat him by a long neck.

Think About It's stablemate Private Eye finished another neck away in third after racing three wide.

By winning Australia's richest thoroughbred race, Think About It extended his current winning streak to nine races and took his overall record to 11 victories from 12 career starts.

Pride was confident he had his pair of sprinters spot on going into Saturday's race and was thrilled to land the biggest success of his career as a trainer, having had Eduardo finish third in The Everest two years ago and Private Eye place second last year.

"That is unbelievable," Pride said.

"They both ran terrific. I was pretty confident coming into the race that not only my two would run well, but Peter Moody's [I Wish I Win] was the only danger.

"It doesn't really matter at the end, but I thought they were the three, and sure enough they fought it out."
