Max Verstappen may have sealed his third world championship, but there is plenty still to race for.

McLaren is surging and are closing in on fourth place in the constructors' championship, while Mercedes and Ferrari are locked in a tight battle for second.

The F1 season heads to the United States for the US Grand Prix in Austin, Texas.

Verstappen has won the last two races at the Circuit of the Americas, but there are plenty of drivers hoping to take victory away from the champion.

Where is the race?

The race is held on the outskirts of Austin, Texas, roughly 260km west of Houston and 350km south of Dallas.

Austin has held the United States Grand Prix since 2012, becoming a popular fixture on the calendar.

What do I need to know about the track?

The Circuit of the Americas sometimes looks like an homage to other great racing tracks around the world.

Turns 3 to 6 are reminiscent of the high-speed run through Maggots and Becketts at Silverstone in the UK, and the famous S Curves driven at Suzuka in Japan.

Further in the lap, turns 12-15 are similar to the stadium section which is found in Hockenheim in Germany.

Turn 1 is a unique corner, however.

A step uphill run along the start-finish straight leads to a tight left-hand hairpin where drivers can overtake on the inside and outside line.

What happened last year?

Verstappen overcame a horror pit stop which dropped him from first to third, to ultimately win the US Grand Prix in 2022.

Verstappen was as much as six seconds behind Lewis Hamilton after his stop but reeled him in for what was his 13th victory of the season

Red Bull secured their first constructors' championship since 2013 with this win.

It was bittersweet for the team as they raced one day after the death Red Bull's co-founder and team owner Dietrich Mateschitz.
