Razer is well-known for making some of the highest-end gaming gear out there and it's arguably the Apple of the gaming world. While most folks might associate Razer with its Blade 15 laptop or keyboards, Razer also makes other stuff, like monitors. For example, this 27-inch Razer Raptor is excellent, and we even rated it highly in our CNET review of this monitor. While it would usually cost you $800, Best Buy has heavily discounted it down to just $400.
The Razer Raptor runs a 1440p resolution, which is standard for a higher-end gaming monitor at 27 inches. What's more impressive is hitting a 165Hz refresh rate at that resolution, which some other lower-end monitors might struggle with. The image stability and quality are also helped by including both Nvidia G-Sync and AMD Freesync Premium support. So regardless of which GPU brand you have, you're good, although keep in mind you'll need something heft to run this, like an RTX 4080 or a Radeon RX 7900 XT.
The Raptor uses an IPS panel, which is great for image reproduction and can cover an impressive 95% of the DCI-P3 gamut. It can also hit a peak of 420 nits of brightness, which should handle pretty much anything except direct sunlight and will help a lot with where you place it. We should also mention that it has HDR 400, although that's not quite HDR and isn't the same as something you'd find on a TV. What you won't find on a TV is a fast 1ms response time in blur mode.
Overall, the Razer Raptor is an excellent monitor, and even though it's a bit pricey, it's worth the cost, especially with the discount from Best Buy. Even so, if you prefer something cheaper, check out these monitor deals for some cheaper alternatives.
