What a blockbuster clash!

No.7 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas and No.12 seed Taylor Fritz are set to meet at the Australian Open for the second time on John Cain Arena.

Tsitsipas, who leads their head-to-head series 3-1, won their 2022 AO meeting at the same stage, though Fritz claimed their most recent matchup at the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters.

This is the 25-year-old Greek's fifth time reaching the second week at Melbourne Park.

He looked particularly vulnerable against Jordan Thompson in the second round, but managed to get the win in four sets. 

Fritz also hasn't had the smoothest of sailing in the first few rounds.

The American was taken to five sets in his opener against Facundo Diaz Acosta, but did show improvement in his form against Hugo Gaston and Fabian Marozsan.
