“I was sort of in denial and, honestly, just wanted to hold on until midnight,” she said. “There was no way I was missing that concert, plus I was pretty sure the baby wasn’t going to come that day.”

As soon as Swift ended her show with Karma, Smith and her friends raced for the exit.
“Getting out was just mayhem, my friend was yelling and telling everyone to get out of the way while I was waddling through with my hand on my stomach,” she said.
“Luckily, I’d called my husband, and he picked me up, so I didn’t have to take public transport.”
While Smith debated wearing her bedazzled dress and pink cowboy boots to the delivery room, she ended up travelling 23 kilometres from the MCG to get changed at home in Eltham, before heading to Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg just before 1am.
“We raced to the hospital, literally tried to get there as soon as possible because the contractions were getting worse,” she said.
Twenty minutes later, she gave birth to a healthy baby girl named Sloane Tayla Smith.
“Sloane is my second child, so I wasn’t too worried about the delivery,” Smith said.
“Had it been my first, I think I would have been way more nervous.”
Despite the chaos, Smith said she wouldn’t change a thing.
“It was a hectic few hours, but overall just a surreal experience,” she said.
“It was definitely a night to remember.”
