The horrific scenes that took place in Bondi yesterday have hit particularly close to home for the Kangaroos.
Ashlee Good, the 38-year-old woman and mother who died in yesterday's attack, was the daughter of former North Melbourne player and board member Kerry Good.
Kangaroos coach Alastair Clarkson fighting back tears as he discusses the impact of the attack on the club.
"It's shocking for our club and in particular the Good family," he tells Fox Footy.
"Kerry's been a significant part of our club for a long time.
"It's just so sad. A beautiful little girl is not going to have a mum, so it breaks our hearts.
"This is happening in our country, and we get the same excuse - drugs and alcohol. We've got to do something about it, there's got to be a time where it just stops.
"The strange part about it is that we get to the next day and all these boys get to do what they love, and that's been denied to Ashlee and denied to five other families.
"We've got a game of footy to play, but our hearts are pretty low today."
The Kangaroos players are all wearing black armbands in memory of Ashlee Good today.
