A "shattered" Nathan Cleary is the latest big name to suffer an injury, leaving Penrith's 16-10 victory over Canterbury-Bankstown just before half-time with a hamstring injury.
Cleary has already spent four weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring strain, and appears set to remain on the sideline for at least a couple of weeks.
"It's very disappointing for him," Panthers coach Ivan Cleary said.
"He felt it straight away, that would suggest it's … decent.
"It hasn't been an ongoing thing … He's basically trained for two weeks without any drama.
"I'm torn between his coach and his dad right now as well.
"Anyway, [the] show goes on.
"We need to get a scan and see the damage and go from there."
Penrith said the star halfback will undergo a scan on Saturday.
The Panthers struggled without Cleary on the field, failing to add any further tries to those scored by Luke Garner and Brian To'o as the hosts took a 12-0 lead into half-time.
However, despite the Bulldogs scoring through Matt Burton and Jacob Kiraz late in the second period, two penalty goals from Dylan Edwards ensured the Panthers claimed the victory to remain third on the NRL ladder.
In Friday's late game, the Broncos subdued the under-fire Eels to claim a 30-14 victory in atrocious conditions in Parramatta.
The Broncos led 18-8 at half-time despite being second-best, in part down to two breakaway scores to Reece Walsh and Deine Mariner, who scored a double.
Ezra Mam and Selwyn Cobbo both scored stunning tries to condemn the Eels to a fifth defeat of the season.
Look back on how all the action unfolded in our live blog.
That's where we'll wrap things up
Plenty more action to come this weekend, with a triple-header tomorrow which I will be back for - and I hope you will to.
But for now, we're done for the evening.
Thanks for being with us tonight - it was a pleasure to bring you all the action.
Let's hope we have an injury free contest or three tomorrow, shall we?
Good night.
Waters: Brisbane were 'good in patches'
Here is Brisbane coach Kevin Walters.
"It was good in patches," Walters said.
"I thought Parramatta played some good footy and they were a bit unlucky at times.
"When we had to score we picked up some points, which was very helpful."
Walters says the breakaway try from Deine Mariner just before half-time was "very important" in the win.
"Our try line attack against opposition isn't that great," he says.
"But we're still scoring good points and enough points to win games."
'Hopefully it goes our way soon': Junior Paulo says Eels need luck
Junior Paulo is also speaking.
He says that the Eels need just a bit of luck.
"I think the most frustrating thing was that we lost but our DNA was still there," he says.
"The fact that we were right there til the end, the bounce of the ball needs to go your way."
'We killed killed ourselves': Eels coach Brad Arthur
Here's Eels coach Brad Arthur.
"I was proud of the effort and physicality and we were still trying ... right to the death.
"We killed ourselves a bit.
"I'd like to know how many tries we bombed tonight.
"I like the style of footy we were playing, I like how we played. I know we had 30 points against us but I liked how we defended.
"There's a lot there ... [if we keep playing like that] the luck will start to go with us.
Penrith 'struggled' without Nathan Cleary
While we're waiting for the pressers from tonight's second game, let's get more fallout from the opening contest.
Isaah Yeo spoke to ABC Sport post-match, saying the Panthers struggled without Cleary.
"We made adjustments at half time, but we just couldn’t complete," Yeo said.
"He's a very important player for us … It can deflate you a little bit."
Dylan Edwards said similar, adding it was "disappointing" for Cleary.
"It's hard losing someone like Nath at half time," he said.
Thanks for being with us team
Good call Simon. And pleased to see a big reduction in harassment of the referees tonight. Let’s keep that going.

Thanks Simon, and thanks Broncos - here's mud in your eye...
- Mike
Two decent enough matches tonight - but the big story will not be about the results...
Brisbane downs Parramatta in the wet
The Brisbane Broncos have secured a remarkable 30-14 victory over the Parramatta Eels at a soaking wet Western Sydney Stadium.
Tries to Reece Walsh and a Deine Mariner double earned the visitors a remarkable first half lead, despite barely having any possession in the Eels half of the field, with the first and third of those tries resulting from long-range breakaways.
Young Eels fullback Blaize Talagi scored the Eels only try of the first half and, despite Dylan Brown scoring first in the second period after ripping the ball out the hands of Ezra Mam, the Broncos turned on the style in atrocious conditions to seal the victory.
Mam chipped and chased for himself off the back of a powerful Payne Haas run, before Selwyn Cobbo acrobatically added another from a Reece Walsh kick.
76' The Eels blow another chance!
Maika Sivo claimed the ball off a high bomb, using his strength to run past/through Reece Walsh.
Walsh does get Sivo to the sideline though, so the giant winger flings the ball inside, but Blaize
Talagi
drops the ball cold.
That, if nothing else, sums up the Eels' night.
73' Parramatta almost makes things interesting, but has another try chalked off
Blaize Talagi with a lovely step through a big gap to score - a wonderful step that completely wrong-footed Ezra Mam.
A wonderful try.
Oh but hang on...
The Bunker has spotted an obstruction - and it's Kelma Tuilagi whose intervention made the space that Blaize ran through.
Rain drops keep falling on my head...
It's been a soggy round 10 so far...
68' Reece Walsh almost blows it
Oh my goodness, Reece Walsh is playing with fire.
The ball was kicked deep by the Eels, Walsh waited. And waited. And waited.
And almost allowed the Eels to touch the ball down before it went dead.
He just about got his hand on the ball while he was out of play and the Broncos get away with a goal line drop out.
67' Brisbane blows a chance
Oh that's disappointing for the Broncos.
Payne Haas was scooting left once, twice, three times before getting to the outside of a marker and then he raced towards the line.
He was tackled and tried to pass but it was a poor one and very forward.
61' Eels score, but there was a forward pass
That's a shame - the Eels work the ball nicely down the right side, inside and out, but the penultimate pass was forward and clearly so.
There is a lot of water falling
Looks like enough rain in Parra to turn the stadium into an aquatic centre.
Makes the last two Brisbane tries more impressive
- Tom
Interestingly enough, the swimming pool in Paris for the Olympic Games is where Racing 92 Rugby play their home games.
Shame Parramatta isn't in Brisbane as an option for 2032, really.
Mam fan
I have been impressed with Mam this season. Seen plenty of players have a breakout year then plateau, but Ezra looks like he has worked hard the little things. His decision making and playmaking has been a big improvement for young and already experienced half
- Shaun
58' Ryan Matterson is on report for a hair pull
He pulled the hair of Xavier Willison
- and there is plenty of hair to pull to be honest so you can understand how it's happened.
58' SELWYN COBBO SCORES A MAGNIFICENT TRY!
Oh my goodness what a finish from Selwyn Cobbo!
Reece Walsh has powered a kick on the angle across into the in goal - it looked like the ball was going dead, but Selwyn Cobbo fancied himself a try - scooting across with barely a centimetre to spare, dotting the ball down as he somersaults.
That's a remarkable score.
In the rain that's falling in Parramatta - it's impossibly good.
55' Goal line drop out forced by the Broncos
Another kick, another error - this time from Maika Sivo.
Blaize Talagi mops up inside his five metres but is slid over the tryline as he is tackled.
The short drop out puts Brisbane within striking range.
53' Magnificent from Mam!
Oh that is very, very special.
Good hard running from the Broncos, Payne Haas with an offload and then another powerful run from Xavier Willison.
Quick play of the ball saw Mam get the ball from the next tackle and chipped ahead on the run, picking the ball up as stopping short of the dead ball line, before nonchalantly dotting down.
Wonderful score.
Walsh kicks the extras and it's 24-14.
The Broncos have still only had four tackles inside the Parramatta 20.
49' Eels lose the ball over the line!
Will Penisini gets the opportunity on the right edge, shoving Cobbo off as Mam attempted a tackle.
But in doing so he dropped the ball onto Cobbo's thigh before grounding it.
Brisbane escapes.
