New South Wales halfback Mitch Moses told ABC Sport his right bicep is "gone" after the Blues's gritty Origin victory over Queensland.
The Parramatta star left the field with just three minutes remaining, clutching his right arm after reeling out of a tackle.
The injury was diagnosed as a potentially torn bicep, which could rule him out for the rest of the season.
Moses had earlier scored the Blues' secondand game-sealing try in its 14-4 victory at Lang Park.
The 29-year-old, who missed a large part of the season for the Eels after fracturing his foot in round three, told ABC Sport he was thrilled with the win.
"It's the best ever … it's the best feeling ever," Moses, who played in New South Wales's two victories this year, said.
But when asked about his bicep, Moses was less enthused.
"It's gone. It's gone," he said.
Any injury to Moses will be desperate news to the Eels, who sit 16th on the NRL ladder with just four wins this season, three of which came with Moses in the side.
The Eels have the bye in round 20, but return to action against the ladder-leading Melbourne Storm at home in round 21.
"I do like Mitch and his personality suits the arena," Blues coach Michael Maguire said.
"You've got to have a lot of confidence about your game and that's what he brought to the game. It was really nice to see him break the game open there."
Penrith will be another team sweating on the fitness of one of their Blues reps, with Dylan Edwards also spending time down late in the game which what appeared to be a knee injury.
The Panthers fullback needed treatment in the in-goal, but was fine to see out the game after being taped up.
Reece Walsh also ended the game in pain, clutching his ribs after being hit after he passed the ball, something Maroons coach Billy Slater said happened too often to his star fullback.
"He certainly was getting hit a fair bit without the footy," Slater said in the press conference.
"I've been out there, I know what it's like. I know what he's going through."
Losing the fullback for any length of time will be disastrous for Brisbane, which has now lost six straight NRL games and is in danger of missing the finals despite playing in last year's grand final.
