We're coming to the end of the first run in the women's kayak singles.

The crowd has gone crazy a few minutes ago, as home heroine Camille Prigent stormed down the course to set a new top time by an entire second — 94.67 seconds!

In second place is Slovakian competitor Eliska Mintalova (95.67), and third is Andorra's Monica Doria (95.93).

That is what Jess Fox is up against. How will she do?

Here she goes, and she is under Prigent's time by two seconds at the first check!

She is in great form, navigating the currents and the white water,,, but she has fallen behind at the third check by 0.8!

A couple of mistakes there, and she paddles to the finish to stop the clock at 95.20 seconds!

It's a great run, just not as great as the French leader.

So the Australian is second after the first run. We will have to wait a while to see how she goes in the second.

The 23rd to 25th competitors, who are in the gun for potential elimination before the semifinals, are China's Shiting Li, Mexico's Sofia Reinoso and Ireland's Madison Corcoran.

These three have times between 110 and 159 seconds. as a comparison with the leaders.
