In short:

Darryl Brohman has criticised the NRL for including Les Boyd among its Hall of Fame inductees.

Boyd served a lengthy suspension after he broke Brohman's jaw during a 1983 State of Origin match.

What's next?

The NRL will hold a formal ceremony for the inductees at the SCG next Wednesday.

Darryl Brohman has hit out at the NRL over the appointment of Les Boyd to the league's Hall of Fame, furious over the former Australia representative's on-field record of foul play.

Brohman took to social media on Wednesday night to criticise the Hall of Fame selection in the latest chapter of an ongoing feud between he and Boyd.

Boyd was handed a lengthy suspension in 1983 that stretched over into the following season when he broke Brohman's jaw during a State of Origin match.

Brohman later attempted to sue the NSW forward, with the pair reaching an out-of-court settlement.

It was one of several incidents during Boyd's career.

While playing for Manly, Boyd was suspended for eye-gouging Canterbury's Billy Johnstone in 1984.

It was Boyd's final appearance in the NSW Rugby League competition (now NRL), with the ban effectively ending his career in Australia.

On social media platform X, Brohman slammed the NRL handing Boyd one of its highest honours.

"[Boyd] Gets inducted into the Rugby League Hall of Fame. Please!!!!" Brohman wrote.

Boyd threatened to sue Brohman in 2007.

This followed Brohman — on live radio — asking Boyd's wife if she felt he was an "embarrassment".
