The Kangaroos have confirmed their place on top of the AFLW ladder, clinching their first minor premiership with a big win over Gold Coast at Arden Street.
The Kangaroos have not been beaten all season, and they finished the last round before finals with 10 wins and a draw after they dismantled the Suns by 63 points, 11.12 (78) to 2.3 (15).
Last year's grand finalists are yet to win a flag, but they will have confidence they can go one better than last year after a stunning run of form.
The team's average winning margin in their 10 victories was just under 45 points.
The home side fell behind to a goal from Ella Smith for the Suns, but quickly established a lead with first-quarter scores from Alice O' Loughlin, Kate Shierlaw and Tahlia Randall.
The Kangaroos led by 16 points at the first change, before extending to a comfortable 27-point break by half-time.
A four-goal-to-none third term ended the game as a contest, and the Kangaroos went on to dominate the final term as they cruised to victory.
O'Loughlin finished with four goals and Randall with two, while the Suns' only goals were to Smith and Elise Barwick.
Melbourne gave themselves every chance of grabbing last spot in the AFLW finals after a thumping 47-point win over Collingwood at Princes Park.
The Demons kicked three goals to one in the opening quarter and were never troubled as the team ran out winners by 11.8 (74) to 4.3.
Melbourne dominated across the board, with 41 inside 50s to 28 for Collingwood, and solid margins in clearances and contested possessions.
Skipper Kate Hore led the way for Melbourne with three goals, while Brittany Bonnici was the stand-out for Collingwood, kicking two majors.
However, that victory was in vain, with the Demons needing Carlton to beat Essendon on Saturday night, and the Blues fell short at Princes Park after the Bombers earned a 36-point victory.
The Bombers overcame the early loss of star forward Bonnie Toogood to an ankle injury to post the 9.6 (60) to 3.6 (24) win.
Melbourne's 47-point win over Collingwood earlier in the day had bumped Essendon down to ninth spot.
The loss of Toogood in the first term made Essendon's task tougher, and the Blues led by two points at quarter-time.
But powered by Maddison Gay (33 disposals, 741m gained), Georgia Nanscawen (25 disposals, nine clearances, one goal) and Madison Prespakis (25 disposals, four clearances), Essendon saw off Carlton's challenge to secure the win.
Tensions flare as Swans beat Eagles
The Sydney Swans finished their season on a high, beating West Coast by 46 points at Henson Park.
Scores were level at quarter time, but the Swans booted eight goals to two in the final three quarters to win comfortably, 11.8 (74) to 4.4 (28).
The Swans' attack was far too strong for the visitors, with Bella Smith kicking five goals and Rebecca Privatelli kicking three.
Smith's fourth goal on the three quarter-time siren sparked a melee between the sides, before the players walked away to the huddles.
The Swans set up their win with 17 marks inside 50 compared to just one for the Eagles. Sydney finishes the year on three wins behind the Eagles on four.
On Friday night Adelaide secured a vital win over Geelong at Kardinia Park to set up a possible top-four spot.
The Cats led by 14 points at half-time, but could not kick a goal in the second half as the Crows came home to win 4.8 (32) to 4.4 (28).
Adelaide is in fourth spot with a percentage of 173.3.
The only team that can deny them a place in the top four is Fremantle — the Dockers play Western Bulldogs in the final game of the round on Sunday evening, needing to win by a big margin to have any chance.
