I’ve tried many blankets throughout the years, but most get kicked off when my partner gets too hot in the middle of the night. There is no getting around the fact that we sleep best at different temperatures, and the Create Your Perfect Comforter from Sleep Number was the solution we were searching for. With this comforter, each of us are able to choose a weight and fill that suits our needs and preferences without imposing on the other person. So, I chose the heaviest option while my partner chose the lightest. 

Besides the practicality, I was surprised by how buttery-smooth and extremely lightweight the comforter is. I know what you’re probably thinking: How can you sleep comfortably with a zipper down the center of your blanket? Despite the halves being joined down the center, the zipper is expertly hidden with folds of fabric, so you can’t feel it at night.

There are three warmth options: Light, medium and extra. I opted for the down alternative filling because of my allergies, though there is a down option available. Plus, there is a one-year limited warranty and a 100-night trial so you can test it for more than three months before deciding if it's for you.

There is a downside, though. Each side is sold separately, and the price varies by fill and weight. My side of the comforter is $125, and my partner's is $99, so in total, our comforter costs $225. Also, this comforter is white, so you may want to add a duvet cover to match your bedroom's color scheme. Thankfully, there are corner tabs to make adding the duvet easy.

Despite the high price tag, I believe this comforter is the perfect holiday gift, because it will literally be used every single night. And it's completely transformed my sleep.
