The training team of Barbara Joseph and sons Paul and Matt Jones will play a strong hand in Sunday’s Country Motor Company Nowra Showcase Cup (1600m) with the race carrying eligibility for next year’s Big Dance at Randwick.

The Joseph and Jones partnership will saddle up three runners in the $65,000 feature with Super Helpful (Claire Ramsbotham), Belleistic Kids (Patrick Scorse) and Louie’s Legacy (Quade Krogh) all looming as solid chances.

“Super Helpful is dropping in grade from tackling Group company but is up in weight with the apprentice claim set to help a little,” said Paul Jones.

“He was down the track in Group 3 grade at Rosehill, but it was on a wet track, and he ingested a lot of mud during that race which didn’t help him. His run in the Charity Chest at Canberra when second to Chorlton Lane before that was good and if he can run up to that he’ll be hard to beat.”

Belleistic Kids ran well when second to King Of The Castle at Randwick on Melbourne Cup day with Chorlton Lane running third in that event, and he also comes out of the Charity Chest in which he finished seventh.

“Things just didn’t go his way the other day,” said Jones. “If he can run up to the Randwick run before that then he’ll be hard to beat.”

Louie’s Legacy is a last-start Queanbeyan Cup placegetter that Jones thinks can give cheek.

“He has the talent on his day to give a good account of himself,” said Jones.

Ramsbotham will partner the Joesph and Jones prepared She’s High Society and Think I Do in the opening two races at Nowra, with Jones having high hopes that Think I Do can measure up.
