It may seem like forever between dances, but the boys from PNAU are finally emerging from their studio sabbatical, bearing gifts of light, song and dance -- as well as a new album. Tentatively titled 'Soft Universe', the album is set to be an emotive exploration of rhythm, orchestrated ballad and epic techno pop.
The album is a bit Bowie, a bit Bono, and a bit Burt Bacharach -- easily the most accessible and uplifting venture into the territory of supercharged anthemica which the pair have ever mustered. Aiming large, there was the desire to create something bigger for a bigger stage, moving away from the club towards the event horizon of the future. 'Soft Universe' is a sort of dance-album version of Bob Dylan's Blood on The Tracks -- and exercise in catharsis, bearing the fruits of an emotional two years and personal transformation of the band.
With the first single from the album 'The Truth' about to oscillate throughout the radio waves of the world in the coming days, the duo of Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes have been placing the final decorative touches on the album, as they prepare to jump back onto stage as part of the 2011 Big Day Out Tour.
This is the world's first chance to listen to PNAU's lead single 'The Truth'.
