Devastated by a traumatic brain injury that left her husband, Peter, entirely paralysed, Charmeyne Te Nana-Williams established What Ever It Takes Home Based Rehabilitation and Support Services in 2005. Part of her charitable trust was on creating social and sporting team building activities for her clients and their families who have undergone major trauma. One such activity was establishing the What Ever It Takes Netball Club to foster the ethos of What Ever It Takes into the wider community through the joy of sports, leadership building and inclusiveness.
Charmeyne then applied for the ANZ’s Netball Grant Scheme in 2014 and was successfully awarded some funding and support to run her netball club including travel costs, registration fees, equipment and training. Under the program, ANZ’s Netball Grant Scheme awards around 120 Netball Grants totalling $100,000 to help encourage and build both players and fans for the enjoyment of the game of netball.
