Child advocate and adoption campaigner Deborra-lee Furness, Australian of the Year 2015 for New South Wales, shares the life-changing story behind a child's cart on show at the National Museum of Australia. Deborra-lee is leading the campaign to overhaul Australia’s anti-adoption culture and lobby for national adoption law reform. For the Australian of the Year exhibition Deborra-lee recreated a small child's cart that once belonged to her son Oscar, and filled it with water bottles to represent the moment that prompted her to advocate for vulnerable children across the world.
