Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) took to the water in dragon boats and kayaks to teach critical skills to its newest Navy, Army and Air Force members at Lake Burley Griffin on Tuesday, 11 February, 2014. The day consisted of approximately 85-95 new ADFA midshipmen and officer cadets participating in a number of water activities. The training proved to be challenging and rewarding for the newest members of ADFA and critical in developing their communication and teamwork skills.
The activity is part of the ADFA Year One Familiarisation Training (YOFT) that concludes on the 01 March, 2014 with the Chief of the Defence Force Parade. This parade officially marks the introduction of all Year One midshipman and officer cadets to the Academy and celebrates the conclusion of their initial military training.
