A man is dead after his leg was allegedly cut off below the knee with a circular saw in a Queensland park with another man facing a murder charge over the horrific act.
Police will allege the two men drove to Fitzgerald Park at Innisfail, in the state’s far north, and sat under a tree at 3.48am on Saturday.
Twenty minutes later one of the men allegedly used a circular saw to cut off the other man’s leg below the knee.
Police say it was part of an arrangement.
The man helped the other man back to a car before he fled the scene on foot.
A member of the public found the injured 66-year-old man about 4.23am and called emergency services.
The man who had his leg cut off - from Innisfail - died a short time later.
A 36-year-old man was found at an Innisfail home around midday and was charged with murder on Sunday.
He is due to face the Innisfail Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police have urged anyone with information to come forward, particularly if they have dashcam or CCTV footage.
