Premier Mark McGowan has called a press conference as WA hit over 1000 daily COVID-19 cases for the first time.
The 1043 new cases include 1039 locally acquired cases and just four linked to travel.
Cases have been gradually increasing this week. On Thursday, WA recorded 617 infections, 645 were recorded on Wednesday, 252 on Tuesday, 214 on Monday and 222 on Sunday.
The number of West Australians in hospital with COVID-19 increased from seven to 12. There are no COVID patients in ICU.
The press conference was scheduled for 12pm.
