“We had some players that worked extremely hard and put themselves on the line but when you’re playing against a team and you don’t have the ball, even the best players can look bad and that’s what the Storm can do to you,” Brown said.

“I don’t know how many tackles we had the ball for in the second half but you could put many players in that situation and the fatigue will make you make bad decisions but we had some players who made some bad decisions and not so much because of fatigue and that was disappointing.”

Brown said he would have some private conversations with the players he was most disappointed with and he wanted some of his younger players who had bad games to learn from their mistakes.

The Warriors play the Canberra Raiders at Redcliffe on Saturday and captain Addin Fonua-Blake wants a response from his players.

“You can’t just turn up against one of the best sides in the comp and assume someone is going to tackle someone else, you need to put your body in front of people,” Fonua-Blake said.

“The boys need to have a good, hard look at themselves but we can’t dwell on this too much as we have the Raiders coming up.

“They’ll probably be a lot of people saying things about us but the only reply we can have is to turn up next game and have a dig.”
