Every time you think about burning plastic to produce energy, you have to think about it as burning oil because plastic comes from oil. Now that we have created all of this plastic, the best thing we can do is not put it into landfill, not burn it, because by burning it we're actually releasing carbon emissions into the environment.

But by keeping a plastic in a solid state where it can be used for remanufacturing, we’re making sure we're actually promoting circularity. Creating useful products through remanufacturing is one way to make sure all of that plastic legacy waste that is now sitting in our landfills can actually be converted into value-added products.

It is up to us to choose products that are packaged sustainably. Reject products that have excessive plastic packaging like fruit in plastic containers and single use plastic bags for cucumbers and tomatoes.
