Since opening in 2009, the Reef HQ Aquarium Turtle Hospital has treated more than 165 sick and injured turtles. The Great Barrier Reef in Queensland is home to six out of seven of the world’s marine sea turtles, which are found along the 2300km length of the Great Barrier Reef, from Cairns to Townsville, the Whitsundays and Southern Great Barrier Reef.
