Two people have suffered minor injuries after a passenger train hit a empty car in Bendigo in central Victoria.
Emergency services said the train collided with the car at Crusoe Road near Kangaroo Flat about 2:00pm.
Ambulance Victoria said a man and a woman were injured and taken to Bendigo hospital and four other people had been assessed at the scene.
There were 80 passengers on board the Bendigo-bound train when the incident happened.
Emergency crews remain on site.
The driver of the car said he was trying to push the vehicle out of the way after it got bogged.
Train passenger Emily Hayes said she was asleep and awoke to a "massive bang".
"There was smoke and dust," she told the ABC's Statewide Drive.
"It was overwhelming, I didn't think that there was ever going to be a chance of getting hit, it's a bit surreal."
Rail services between Melbourne and Bendigo have been suspended.
V/Line said coaches would replace the train to take passengers to Melbourne's Southern Cross Station.
