South Sydney have named State of Origin halfback Adam Reynolds in their squad for the round two clash against Manly at Lottoland on Saturday.

Reynolds missed South's opening round loss to the Wests Tigers after suffering an appendicitis. He was originally ruled out for four weeks however he has been training with the side and may return a week early. 

Wests upset Souths to start season

The Wests Tigers have upset the Souths Sydney Rabbitohs, 34-18, to kick off their season.

The halfback was named in the 21-man squad but will need a medical clearance later this week to face Manly. Under NRL rules, no player can take the field outside the 21 players named on Tuesday.

Rabbitohs coach Michael Maguire has switched Alex Johnston from wing to fullback to replace Greg Inglis who ruptured an ACL in his knee. Braidon Burns has been named on the wing.

Out-of-favour prop George Burgess has also earned a recall on the extras list,

Meanwhile, Benji Marshall is a chance of making his first appearance in Brisbane colours after being named on an extended bench for the Broncos' NRL derby against North Queensland, while Warriors veteran Manu Vatuvei has been named against Melbourne.

Canberra pair Jack Wighton and Junior Paulo return from injury and suspension respectively to take on Cronulla.
