THE perils of the beach and high tide have claimed another victim on Fraser Island.

This time, a well-intentioned bus driver was attempting to tow the Air Fraser Island Airvan plane out after it became bogged in wet sand, the Sunshine Coast Daily reports.

Photos taken by Karen Baker and shared via the Central Queensland Plane Spotting Blog showed passengers watching on as the bus attempted to make the rescue.

The plane managed to get out but the bus remained stuck.

Overnight, high tide washed over the bus’ tires.

Heavy machinery was brought in on Thursday to pull the bus out.
