He once looked set for a long career at the top of the English game and with the Socceroos as a first choice central defender.

But injury cruelled the future of Curtis Good, who played a handful of games in the EPL with Newcastle United after signing for them in 2012 following a breakthrough year at Melbourne Heart.

Now he has gone back to the future and, at the age of 25, has re-signed for the A-League club where he first came to prominence in a bid to relaunch his career at the top level of the domestic game.

Good left for Newcastle when just a teenager. He was making good progress with the English club but everything started to go wrong when he picked up a hip injury in his debut Socceroos appearance in 2014.

As he battled to regain fitness he had spells with Bradford City (nine appearances) and Dundee United (five appearances) in the English Football League Two and Scottish Premiership respectively.

Now he is back home looking to reboot at the club where it all started for him.
