"I feel like we've got the momentum at the moment so it's probably the time to strike and keep going with it.
"It would have been nice to see this season grow with another round. We didn't get that this year, but if we put on a good show this year I'm hoping that it will just keep growing.
"I don't see it taking a backwards step. The years to come, I can't see it slowing down."
Milward is back with the Brumbies after leading the side in the inaugural Super W season and forcing her way back into the Wallaroos squad for the first time in four years.

The Brumbies have added some fresh faces and will play a trial match against the Rebels in Albury this weekend before their season opener against defending champions NSW on February 23.
Adam Butt has stepped into the coaching position and interested has boomed, with officials reporting a 20 per cent increase in women who wanted to trial for a spot on the team in Canberra.
"I can't wait to hear that whistle for the first game," Milward said. "We're at home against NSW in the first game, that will be a big game and the Super W has helped girls find that spark again for rugby.
"We've got a few players in the back line who have come through this year. I feel like anyone in this competition has the quality to take it out.
"I don't like looking at teams on paper and seeing names. Yes, there was a gap [with NSW and Queensland] at the top last year, but everyone else has been working to close that.

February 23: Brumbies v NSW at Canberra Stadium, 5pm
March 3: Brumbies v Rebels at Seiffert Oval, 3pm.
March 16: Queensland v Brumbies at Ballymore, 5pm.
March 24: Rugby WA v Brumbies at Wanneroo Rugby Club, 4pm.
