The Giants' youngest player, Alyce Parker, has made a mark after playing her first game in the AFLW last weekend, earning a nomination for the competition's Rising Star award.

Parker took four marks and made three tackles at the Giants' game against the Lions on Sunday, where GWS narrowly missed out on their first-ever round one win by two points.

She topped the stats sheet for the number of handballs across all games over the weekend with 12 , and recorded 72 per cent disposal efficiency across her 18 touches.

Two players are nominated for the Rising Star award in each round of the seven-week season, with a panel selecting a winner at the end. Geelong's Nina Morrison was nominated alongside Parker in round one.
