All those people who wish SBS had made infinite seasons of Letters and Numbers – and who perhaps also enjoy a good British comedy/panel show – need to know about this terrific series, now in its seventh season on the channel formerly known as SBS2. Jimmy Carr hosts, Sean Lock and the sublime Jon Richardson are team captains, the other two contestants are also comedians and every week the funny is upped even further by a guest comic on the Dictionary Desk.

Sure, the chance of all these people getting real jobs is probably improved significantly by having a camera crew tagging along. But if that’s what it takes, so be it. Because it’s clear to us – if not always to potential employers – that the people featured in this moving and sometimes challenging series are well up for paid employment. That said, the employers featured tonight are equally inspiring and a highlight is Sinead, who has Down’s, landing her dream job.
