Aston Villa’s promotion to the English Premier League might not come at the cost of Mile Jedinak's proposed move to the A-League, with the competition’s newcomers Macarthur FC set to commence talks to sign the former Socceroos captain in the coming weeks.
The Birmingham club sealed their progression to the top flight of British football on Tuesday morning (AEST) after beating Derby County 2-1 at Wembley in the promotion play-off, with Jedinak an unused substitute for that match.

Despite not featuring in their crucial tie, the Birmingham club is understood to have still flagged their interest in keeping hold of the veteran defensive midfielder next season when they return to the Premier League.
The 34-year-old is off contract on June 30 and yet to finalise his future but could be tempted to return to Australia in 2020, after spending one final season in the EPL or with another club in England.
