Head Coach Jeff Hopkins said that Longo’s skill and experience will be a welcome boost for the reigning Premiers Plate winners.

“Annalie is obviously a very talented player, but it’s her leadership and experience that will also be an incredible asset to our side this season," Hopkins said.

“She has accomplished plenty in her career having played in four FIFA Women's World Cups, so her return to the W-League and in particular to Victory is fantastic.”

• Fans of Matildas superstar Sam Kerr will get the chance to see her play-off for the US Women's League (NWSL) title when her club, the Chicago Red Stars, plays North Carolina Courage in the grand final in the early hours of Monday morning (AEDT).

The game is being telecast live on ESPN.

Kerr led her side to a 1-0 victory over Portland Thorns in the semi-final, when she scored the only goal of the game to end the title dreams of several of her national teammates (Ellie Carpenter, Caitlin Foord and Hayley Raso) in the process.

This is the Red Stars' first championship game appearance in the competition's seven seasons, the club having been beaten in the past three play-offs.

Kerr is a three-time Golden Boot winner and is the NWSL’s all-time top scorer with 77 goals. She was again on top this season  with 19 goals, including her first in a play-off match.
