The NRL has since placed Utoikamanu in a "COVID-19" hold and have asked all family and friends he came into close contact with yesterday to undergo tests.

Once the results of the tests are known, Utoikamanu should be fine to rejoin the Eels' squad.

Parramatta coach Brad Arthur was bemused when asked about the Eels' predicament on Sunday.

"I don't make the rules. We will just have to see what happens there," Arthur said. "I think the club has talked to him about it. It's just a reaction. He's excited after making his debut. I'm not going to hold it against him."
