Six months and 18 episodes later, Fernandez's podcast has gained somewhat of a cult following amongst millennials, who love the combination of personal stories, psychology, neuroscience and fitness.

"If I talk about something that's going to make you happy, or self love or self care, then I'm talking about what neurotransmitters would be involved... I talk about how you can boost certain neurotransmitters like serotonin and dopamine and all these feel good chemicals in your body, and that's where physical fitness really plays quite a heavy role.

Most episodes focus on relationships; with friends, family, coworkers and partners. Fernandez explores toxic relationships, and draws many comparisons to personal situations, but is at pains to say she reflects a lot on her own behaviour too, and "what role we play in a toxic situation".

"That doesn't necessarily mean you are toxic but the fact that you're allowing this... you ultimately get what you tolerate in your life, and if you keep tolerating [toxic situations] you're just going to keep pulling them into your life.

"I talk a lot on my podcast about calling yourself out on your bullshit and just being a bit more accountable. I think that a lot of people, especially people in their twenties, no one feels accountable for their behaviours."

Fernandez is willing to expose herself, her fears and her flaws, to her listeners. She hopes this honesty will help form closer bonds with the listeners.

"More so than ever, people are craving a bit of a deeper connection. There's already so much out there. We have access to see how people live their lives, to see how people are, but a lot of it is very curated and filtered.

"When people feel that they've found someone that might not be perfectly scripted, they might stumble on their words, but if they're real people they just cling on to that because it feels like an actual connection."
