New York Times tennis journalist Ben Rothenberg made the discovery on Saturday, sharing on Twitter a screenshot of what appears to be a promotional e-mail from tennis equipment manufacturer HEAD.
“HEAD getting aHEAD of themselves,” he captioned his post.
A tennis fan responded to Rothenberg’s tweet showing that a second e-mail was sent out to correct the error.
“What we meant to say is... Good luck Novak in the 2021 Australian Open Final,” the email read.
Djokovic is one game away from his 18th Grand Slam having gained passage into Sunday’s final by beating Aslan Karatsev in straight sets on Thursday.
He plays Karatsev’s countryman Medvedev, who beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets on Friday.
