“He is the best horse we have in the race and he has a good draw, so I’ll stick with him. We are working out who will drive the other two on Monday.”
King Of Swing was made an odds-on favourite after Victoria Cup and Hunter Cup winner Lochinvar Art was withdrawn from the Miracle Mile due to injury last week. After his qualifier win and a good draw, he dominates betting at $1.40.
Miracle Mile 2021
- The Black Prince $21
- Ignatius $12
- One Change (2nd em) $51
- Expensive Ego $7
- Alta Orlando $14
- King Of Swing $1.40
- Wolf Stride $12
- Mach Shard (1st em) $41
- Out To Play $41
- Stylish Memphis $12
Expensive Ego, who drew perfectly in gate four, is the second pick at $7, while Wolf Stride, who won the other qualifier on Saturday, and Ignatius are on the $12 line.
“There is a bit of speed on our inside with The Black Prince and Ignatius but I think King Of Swing should be able to find the front,” McCarthy said.

“He races best that way and is always hard to beat when he gets there.
“Expensive Ego is every promising, but he is taking a big step.
“Of our trio I see Alta Orlando as the big improver.
“He had to lead on Saturday and was run down late and he is much better driven with a sit, which should happen in the Miracle Mile.”
